Alice?!

Alice?! is a performance about a group of four youngsters, who leave their childhood behind them to move through the labyrinth of puberty towards becoming adolescent.

When I started to make Alice?! I took inspiration in the two books of Lewis Caroll: ‘Alice in Wonderland’ and ‘Through the Looking Glass’. Reading the two books and reading about these books, one of the things that interested me was the perspective on Alice as a tale about the transitory time between childhood and adolescence. The self-reflection of Alice, which she makes in the end of each book on growing up and learning from experiences, is both playful and mature. The starting point in the making of Alice?! was to make a piece that could read like a labyrinth of different stories and emotions related to the period of being a teenager.
